Following its official look in bold colorways, the forthcoming Nike Air Max 720 is now previewed in the popular “Triple Black” iteration.
The newest flagship runner from the Swoosh has not made its debut at store shelves yet, but more variations of the silhouette continue to surface. The sneaker is essentially defined by its futuristic upper with a unique obstructive wavy pattern that almost resembles the aesthetics of the classic Nike Air Max Plus, while also incorporating the tallest Air bag ever created by the Swoosh, extending from the heel down to the toe.
Serving as one of the Swoosh’s chief releases for its upcoming Air Max Day festivities in March, the Air Max 720 is set to make its grand debut at retail in an “Aurora Borealis” colorway inspired by the natural phenomenon. The silhouette, originally previewed in Fall 2018, boasts the all-new 720 Max unit, a number derived for its 360-degree coverage on both a latitudinal and longitudinal scope, while the eccentric upper was designed with a retro-future aesthetic in mind. This is just one of several Air Max 720 colorways that are set to launch in Spring 2019, with some derived from nature and others blending some vivid colorways to truly stand out from the pack.
Most of the Nike Air Max 720 colorways that have surfaced before their 2019 release feature an upper constructed of synthetic materials. This futuristic look makes plenty of sense — as the model is set to lead lifestyle Air Max silhouettes into an interesting new age. However, pairs like this recently-revealed “Aurora Borealis” trade out the synthetics for a more traditional mesh, making for an interesting alternate visage. Now, another 720 that’s received a mesh makeover has surfaced, and it’s arguably the most striking pair we’ve seen yet. The upper’s mesh boasts iridescent detailing that shimmers brightly in a multitude of different colors as the light strikes it at alternate angles. A perfect contrast is then offered on both the Air bubble and upper’s plastic overlays via deep forrest green embellishments.
